Panos Chatzipanos
Panos Chatzipanos is a Civil Engineer with a Ph.D. in Environmental Hydrodynamics and credentials including C.WEM, Dr. Eur Ing, BC.WRE, RPP, and F.ASCE. He is a resourceful and versatile revenue generator with over 40 years of extensive engineering expertise, varied construction experience, and robust managerial abilities. He has served 17 years as a C-Level executive in construction companies listed on the ATHEX Group.
Panos is a senior consultant at the World Bank, specializing in organizational portfolio management and the management of infrastructure programs and projects. He is also a principal at PMOAdvisory, Inc. (USA), the President of EFEK, the Treasurer of HCIC, the CEO of ECONTECH, and the former President of Green Athens.
He serves as the Vice Chair of the ASCE Global Region, overseeing and reporting on applying Sustainable Development Principles within the Region. He is also the ASCE Governor for Europe and was President of the ASCE Hellenic Section from 2011 to 2023. Furthermore, he is a founding member of the AAWRE and holds its senior professional certification.
He is a past President and Honorary President of PMI-Greece (2014-2021), and since 2021, he is a member of PMI’s Standards Consensus Committee. He also holds PMI’s Global Chair of the 5th Edition of the Portfolio Management Standard. Panos has co-authored four PMI Project Management Global Standards: the PMI PMBoK-Construction Extension, the Complexity Practice Guide, and the ANSI/PMI Standards for Project Portfolio Management and Earned Value Management. He is the co-editor and author of PMI’s book, “Implementing Project Portfolio Management.”
